Air Drying

The term, Air Drying, refers to a technique for reducing the moisture content in logs. Rough-milled logs ("cants") are stacked in a large open building for a period of weeks or months to dry. The objective is to slowly reduce moisture content and induce any dimensional changes in the wood before it is milled into its final form.
